Anybody had luck with this site lately? It seems to have perished from the face of the Earth, which is a true shame. If you hadn't seen it, it was basically the old Steam Passenger Directory (or whatever Kalmbach calls it these days) in a state by state format. If you've been the the National Park Service site and been able to scan parks by state, this was the tourist line, railroad museum equivalent. Anybody know of a similar site? ARM and TRAIN each have a membership scan, but you have to know the geographic location and name to find it... unless you want to scroll through them all! Jim http://nctrans.org Wrinnbo@aol.com |

The webmaster of railterminal.com, Mr. Leon Kanopka, Jr., passed-away 03 November 2001. (See link below). I thought that there was some talk that another individual would be assuming administration of the site. However, as you describe, the original Web site address is no longer active. The last I heard a new webmaster had been selected by Mr. Kanopka's family, in fact they requested volunteers shortly after his death so the site wouldn't be lost. That was over six months ago, I don't know what happened but the loss of the site is truly unfortunate for all railfans; it was an invaluable resource. |
