Post subject:  B&O Depot in Mt. Vernon, Ohio

Nice brief on the subject station. This will make the second Depot saved in Mt Vernon. The equally nice, I believe PRR depot at the south end of town is also preserved. Along with a large thru truss bridge they all make an interesting picture of the vanished RR's and the past glory. A worthy goal for many a small city!

I wish we could have more of this type of appreciation for history. In my neck of the woods, Northeastern Pa., we have Scranton of course..

But then we have Wilkes Barre (or is it Wilkes Bury) where the remaining CNJ station looks like an Andy Warhol collage- really is the poster child of adaptive misuse.

And where in just the past two weeks- the coaches that were once used as a "hotel" were destroyed on the spot.
