Saw an interesting ad in an old issue of Trains Magazine from early 1983.

It's advertising a wooden coach and a combine for sale by The Edison Institute from the train used to haul Thomas Edison and dignitaries to the October 1929 Golden Jubilee celebration of Edison's invention of the electric light. Based on a circa 1865 BAR prototype and built for this occasion.

What happened to these cars? Since 1933, these two were on display at the Henry Ford Museum the ad said. One other car seems to remain there on display judging by their website, but what about this other pair? And the Wikipedia article says it was a 7 car train, so I assume there were 4 other cars built as well. What happened to those? Hopefully all 6 remain preserved and in good homes to this day.

An internet search wasn't of much help, but I bet someone here knows all about this.

Thanks

There appear to have been 3 passenger cars, all really good reproductions or possibly reconstructions of old cars... I tried to find out something about the cars, as the car retained by the Ford Museum feels like a real car, not a replica... (t has panel walls, and interesting mural paintings. The museum could not find much documentation when I asked. It seems that Ford's historic village was not created as a museum, but more as a monument to American Life...

Two of the cars are now in a warehouse near Salt Lake City, with their trucks said to be at the Golden Spike National Monument.
