This past weekend the WW&F Railway Museum held our fall track meet, from Friday to Monday. The goal was to put the remainder of the new track laid last year at this time in service, and to get as much new track in laid and in service as possible.

We succeeded in our goal of getting the remaining new track into service. We were also able to lay another 300 feet of track and ballast it, but were not able to get it into service. Crew sizes were smaller than anticipated, probably due to the large and nasty rain storm south of us.

For those of you familiar with the line, the in-service track now goes across our trestle and stops in the middle of the small rock cut beyond it. New track continues to just past where Humason brook oxbows near the track.

A couple of the guys were working under the trestle when a train went over and mentioned that nothing underneath moved or even trembled. The Marines did an excellent job assembling it.
