Hi All I just wanted to pass this along, I don't know how many of you are following the progress on the AT&SF 2926. But here is a little update, this past weekend they took delivery of fuel oil. So they are getting ready for the first shakedown fire-up if you go to there website. http://www.nmslrhs.org you can see photos and progress made on this fine locomotive. |

They pumped in exactly "2926" gallons! Unfortunately there were wasted spots and pinholes in the wall of the lower flue-sand bunker, which gave way and started leaking, so the truck had to be called back and the oil pumped out again. I think they are still a couple of hydro tests away from 'first firing' but they are assuredly going to get there. I just hope by that time arrangements to run it, and its new tool car, can have been arranged. |
