Thanks J3A for posting this link. I enjoyed doing it for Trains and it has been a pleasure to see that many friends from way back when are still alive and active. Let's hope that working effectively together we can get Amtrak to reverse its recent decision to ban all charter trains, thus effectively killing all mainline steam except UP. Hope springs eternal. Best regards, Ross Rowland |

Ross you story on Trains Magazine was interesting to read. But why the co 614 stay in the green color??? I know the greenbrier projet has never start (for now) so why not get back the 614 in original color Thanks you David |

The reason we've left her in GBX paint is that a first rate ( Imron) paint job runs about $ 25K and until we have another project lined up that will justify the approx. $ 1M it will cost to put her through the FRA 1472 day drill she looks just fine as is. And, the owner of the Greenbrier resort Jim Justice ( now Governor of W.Va.) says that he still wants the Greenbrier Express luxury train to happen someday. Allow me to take this opportunity to thank the staff at the C&OHS in Clifton Forge for the great job they do of keeping the 614 looking sharp for the many visitors who enjoy touring her cab and having their photos taken on and around her. Thanks for asking, Ross Rowland |
