Post subject:  Portable PTC equipment for historic equipment, steam

In another post, an interview with Ross Rowland (http://cs.trains.com/trn/b/staff/archiv%20...%20loves.aspx) is shared, and the following quote is in the interview:

Quote:
There's some good work being done by several mainline steam operators to devise a "portable" PTC kit that can be shared by different steam locomotives, thus helping share the considerable costs.

This is of extreme interest to us and I encourage involved persons to contact me. We would be interested in learning about and documenting the challenges and safety certification of portable or interchangeable signal computers and components. Such documentation would support regulatory approval in Denmark.
