Just as a tag to Mid Continent's announcement, New England Steam Corporation likewise received an Emery Railroad Heritage Preservation award or $5,000 to help with the rebuilding of Maine Central 470's tender.

$5,000 Emery Foundation
$15,000 on account as of February, 2018
$50,000 award from the Samuel Freeman Foundation
$5,000 from the Deupree Family Foundation
$10,000 from a private individual in Maine.
$3,000 from donors through our Facebook appeal and RYPN followers.

We feel we need to raise an additional $17,000 to bring the tender to completion. The old tender body will be used as a template to produce CAD drawings and cut identical replacement steel. Tender fittings, grab irons, doors, details, will be re-used in the new tender body. Our prospective contractor will be able to turn this around with a year from delivery.

Donations from clubs, organizations, individuals are heartily welcomed.

In the meantime, congratulations to Mid-Continent on their award, and thank you, Emery Railroad Heritage Foundation.
