After a three year journey, with a few hiccups along the way, we've finally completed the restoration of our Budd Tavern Observation Car (SAL #6601/SCL#5841/Amtrak #3341) located in Naples, Florida at the Naples Depot Museum. We were able to acquire the original Budd blue prints with unwavering assistance from the Pullman Library. One of the many challenges we ran into was translating the 1947 color schemes into today's fabric, paint, etc. with the added layer of procuring these items within the county government parameters. Navigating the process, we tried to achieve the best end product that we could given the situation and deadlines. There are still a few things that we plan to accomplish in the future (bar front art work, bar glass artwork, table bases) when resources become available. If anyone has any questions, please let me know!

That is really wonderful interior work!! And that carpet in the obs section is really excellent; is that a reproduction of the original pattern? It certainly looks "right". Your group has done a great job with this car. Howard P. |

The brick red / maroon fern pattern carpet looks great! If it is newly made, what is the vendor and pattern #? Thanks! - Doug Debs Niles Canyon Railway http://www.ncry.org |

Stunningly beautiful. Says so much about the art deco era of railroading. |

This looks so amazing! That photo looking towards the observation end looks almost like a color tinted photo. Congratulations to all involved! |
