Post subject:  Happenings in Astoria

I don't know how many of you are aware of the restoration going on in Astoria, Oregon. The group's website has some fantastic photos and best of all there is a complete explanation of what is happening in the photo!
I'm lucky to live so close. I'll definitely be getting down that way in the near future. Great stuff!

I saw a bunch of steam parts in a gravel lot when I was out there inspecting a couple streetcars 3 years ago and didn't know what was going on.

These guys are doing a great job and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty. Best of luck.

This is a very good website and the detailed restoration descriptions are a good lesson to look before you leap into a steam dismantling project. They're making good progress, but still have a lot of time and $$$ to go before any of them gets to play Casey Jones.
