All, Once had a color photo of a Caboose which possibly was from the NO. & GN NEW ORLEANS and GREAT NORTHERN the car appeared to be painted GREEN, I now cannot find my photo anywhere. The New Orleans Great Northern eventually was acquired by the Gulf, Mobile & Northern in the late 1920's and thus eventually became part of the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio. When still independent, the line had a nice locomotive roster, including Russian Decapods and even 4-8-2's. The only surviving NOGN locomotive is 4-6-0 # 72. Glad you were able to find your caboose photo Mr. Starr. Would be interested in seeing it posted. Not sure how many original NOGN cabooses still survive today. Les |
