Since Mid-Continent has taken some criticisim recently for not restoring cars except "high profile" projects, I thought I'd share a photo and a link to a soon to be completed project at Mid-Continent that has not been "high profile". Just one of Mid-Continent's ongoing restoration projects.

The Mid-Continent Museum is to be comended for working this way: a paid restoration going forward as well as a voluunteer project. Few others are working at this level. Only other that comes to mind is Seashore trolley museum whose shop has paid and volunteers working together.

I think that preserving those wooden cars is an important element of what we are here to do in the railroad preservation business.

So often that wooden car that ran its last years as work train equipment is to be restored some day. well that day is now at Mid-continent and a few other places!
