Post subject:  Caboose number two from Boulder
Today we head back to Boulder to pick up our second UP caboose for preservation from this site, this one is the oldest known UP caboose NCS 2095 from 1880, it follows on the heels of 2269 (1901) that we moved 3 weeks ago, 2269 was pretty derelict and had been used as a chicken coop but after cleaning out had almost all the removed wood stored inside, and still maroon paint on the floors. The fabulous pictures of 2269 in happier times appears in the UP caboose book. We are appealing for help to fund this second move and are close to your goal to achieve it by the deadline of August 13th.

Here are some pictures of the wild complete interior of a 1880 UP caboose, 2095 will move next week to Cheyenne. Check out the amazing cast washer and and the ice chest never before seen in a UP caboose and the open air coal bunker etc.

2 more showing coal bunker and cupola construction, these NCS cabooses had walkways around the sides of the cupola
