Hello, It appears the Red Devil may have made it out on the road once this year in July. The news reports are few from South Africa but I did see a report of broken valve rings during the trip which the train had to be covered by diesel or electric to return to Cape Town. Also saw reports of Ceres management may have retrieved the drawings and technical information when it was super tuned at the Salt River Works. In Wardales book the valves were fitted with fine pattern rings. Regular class 25NC rings may not work. Sincerely, Randy |
