I am looking for an individual with a unique combination of railroad mechanical and operations experience AND film/video production supervision to work on one, and possibly two, upcoming projects. My long time partner, Willis B. Miller, a railroad design engineer (with EMD, ALCO, Precision National, Martin-Marietta)and short line manager (West Tennessee; LNAC) passed away about a year ago. He had forgotten more railroading than I will ever know. While I cannot replace Willis, I am confident there is someone out there with a similar credential package. The one project "on the books" as of this week will require a two-month deployment in Canada, in the late Winter. Bring your woolies! And get ready for long days with no days off. The pay is good -- $350 or so USD per day; meals and lodging provided; generous per diem; 1st class airline travel to and from; one paid visit for friend or spouse during the project; and assigned SUV. The psychic income is even better -- the project involves steam and historic passenger equipment operation. In addition to railroad skills, winning people skills are essential. Production folks are a creative lot and work plans subjected to frequent change. An unwaivering ability to work as part of a production team, to think on your feet to help add on-screen production values, and an ability to lead are essential. Senior production managers will look to us regularly to solve problems, explain things, and be creative. An unwaivering commitment to SAFETY is essential. RTMS has the production industry's ONLY perfect safety record, which is why we're going to work this project. Working successfully in a volunteer museum setting is a great reference.
