Post subject:  D&RGW 268 repairs

Former Rio Grande 2-8-0 No. 268 is receiving some repairs at Gunnison, Colorado, including reinstatement of its notable "bumblebee" paint job, originally applied for use in the 1951 movie "Denver & Rio Grande". The engine finished its active service in this scheme, before being retired to display in Gunnison in 1955. See photo at link below.

Correction: paint job was first applied for 1949 season of Chicago RR Fair, where 268 was operable with former C&S 2-6-0 No. 9.
