I went down to Alna, Maine today, to see the newly installed ex-B&M bridge, on the projected wooded right of way. Not only is the bridge beautiful restored, it truly enhances the 1900's atmosphere of a typical "salt water farm" region of the state. A local couple walking their dog, along the wooded trail told us the railroad enhances the area, and this was in their minds, another example of the color and fine work being done by WW&F. The bridge straddle a trout stream and look like it's always been in place. Once steam crosses the span, it will be picture perfect. Congratulations to WW&F volunteers and workers, and all those who donated funds and services. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1g8DMu ... qIxm8mXy_S |
