Relisted from the GN Yahoogroups list. Note, the engine was moved to Pasco by barge, curious that it will be returned by rail. Michael Seitz Missoula MT Date: Thu, 24 Oct 2002 13:34:29 -0000 From: "dsl4soc" Subject: GN 2507 Steam Operations Corporation {SOC]has just completed the servicing of former GN 4-8-2 #2507 in Pasco WA. Work included removing all side rods to allow for cleaning and inspection of bearings and crank pins, servicing air system for brakes during move, servicing all journals and general inspection of locomotive. The project also included painting and lettering to replicate the look when last operated by GN. Rods were painted silver to replicate a polished finish. The locomotive is owned by Klickitat County, Washington. The move to Wishram is being coordinated by BNSF, Klickitat County and Steam Operations Corporation. No time has been set for the move. Michael: Thank you for this news. This locomotive is one of my personal favorites. Hope we see a fire in her belly someday. We all would appreciate any more news of the move. Scott shawsinoly@aol.com |
