When a ASME code boiler is built what information is kept by the ASME or the National Board and for how long? How about an R stamp repair? Are the dimensions kept, how about the type of seam? What else? I believe that some loco's had "code " boilers, does anyone know which loco manufacturer's had code stamps?

I obtained some info. on a boiler for a steam derrick that was built in the early 1940s from the National Board. I think it cost me around $20 for the info. Search for the National Board website and you will find info on how to order your info there.
