Ran across this webpage for a Toldeo, Oregon group working on a former Georgia Pacific logging 2-8-2. They built a spur into the old display site and moved it to a new one. They apparently didn't prepare the journals and running gear for movement; the wheels wouldn't turn so they greased the rails and dragged it around. Sounds like they could use some good advice from more knowledgable restorers. http://www.newportnet.com/yprhs/infopage.htm ryarger@rypn.org |

Bob, The locomotive had two very knowledgeable steam consultants helping with the move, Doyle McCormack and Bill Stetler. The problem with the frozen wheels is likely because of her 40 years on display a few yards from a salt water bay, not from any lack of experiance of the crew.
