NS has 200 former Southern 50-ft boxcars for sale. They're in interchange condition.

I don't know how to attach a link to other posts so, using the Search function for this site, look for a post containing the word Bangor by Adam Phillips. I posted photos and info about the U.S.N. boxcars in Bangor, WA. Your State contact for getting Fed surplus should be in Cheyanne.

Good luck.

To see the NS equipment do you have to log in to their e-sourcing application or am I looking in the wrong place?

Hi
The Green Mountain Railroad, had Boxcars they wanted to sell, sitting in Bellows Falls, Vt, by the station. All boxcars were on Roller bearing and could be interchanged. Of course, now the Green Mountain Railroad is now a part of the Vermont Railway.
