So while so many of you were getting the vapours over a big CN 2-8-2 near Buffalo, NY, someone else choosing to remain "anonymous" bought a husky CN 2-8-0 from a museum exhibit and spirited it away to points unknown...........

Thanks for the info. In addition to the Consolidation, it appeared that were a few other railroad items located there:

So, did the "private collector" also take the green (?) Canadian Pacific single sheathed box car, the CP caboose and, what appears to be, some type of camp car? If not, might someone have an idea as to what is to become of those items?

If it has gone to someone "in the Uxbridge area", don't forget the York-Durham Heritage Railway operates between there and Stouffville, so there may be a connection.....

Supposedly it is the same individual that owns Canadian Steel Foundries Co. No. 110.

Found while on a hike near Uxbridge. She is not far from her old GrandTrunk Line.

First of all that is a CP 2-8-2 5361.

Second. Nothing to do with YDHR. It is a private individual.

Third. No other equipment has left Memory Junction yet.

Memory Junction is a privately owned museum of railway and other artifacts of Brighton Ontario a major apple growing area. It includes an original brick 19th century GTR station. Memory Junction closed two years ago due to age of Ralph (who recently died) and his wife Eugenia.

Previous attempt to sell entire property resulted in nothing although he did sell 2534.

BTW Station sits on original site right next to CN mainline and VIA passes there at top speed!

No, It is 2534. Wish I had better photo.
It is on private property, close to Uxbridge.
Just off the Trans Canada Trail, formerly Toronto Nippising Railway.

Beaver1177,

Thank you for locating the #2534!

I tried following the old ROW to find the locomotive, but the aerial imagery for Uxbridge is a little outdated (2016). Could you provide close coordinates or a general area of where the locomotive is?

I could have seen the ARA - ARCADE and ATTICA RAILROAD obtaining this Loco , though I know it would have been unlikely .

That's what the quote option is for. Quote the original post so we know what you are referring to. It sounds like you are referring to the post just before your reply.

Does anyone know who the new owner is and what they plan to do with the 2-8-0?
