Post subject:  What happened to Toledo, Peoria and Western (TP&W) 509?

TP&W 509 is a "bay window" type caboose built in 1950-1954 by the TP&W in their East Peoria, IL. shops. The caboose worked for the TP&W until 1983 when the TP&W was consumed by the ATSF on Dec, 31 1983. The caboose then went on "display" in Pekin, IL. in front of the Chicago and Alton Pekin depot. The depot and caboose were located at the corner of South 41th Street and Broadway street. ( A walgreens is now there) The caboose and depot remained at the depots original location until 2009 when the depot was moved a few blocks east to a EX: ATSF rail yard, which is now a empty field. When the depot moved, the caboose did too, but not with the depot.

Does anyone know where TP&W 509 could have gone? I would like to find out if it is still in existence because my friend Thomas Dyrek "Trainkid365" and I wrote a article a few months back on these cabooses, here's the link viewtopic.php?f=1&t=42321

Here is a photo of 509 and the depot in the background circa 7/6/1983

Any information is appreciated!

Thanks,
Connor
