I have been fortunate enough to have very large but incomplete builder's list for the McGiffert and Barnhart log loaders. Always glad to share and swap information. |

Does your McGiffert list go back before the 1907 Clyde Iron Works fire? |

Unfortunatly not, the Clyde list I have starts at #1001 April 10, 1908. I have a few older McGifferts that I have gotten from other sources. Is there a particular company you are interested in? |

Pretty much anything from Louisiana. In particular, the Alexandria Lumber Co, and the Crowell and Spencer Lumber co. before 1908. |

Bogalusa, LA ? Tennga Lbr. Co., Conasauga, TN Southern Iron & Equipment Co. (D) Atlanta, GA #1491 03-19 H. Johnson Lbr. Co. Haughton, LA 12-03-19 Tremont Lbr. Co., Tremont, LA, is listed as owning 3 Barnhart loaders in 1910. (2 Listed for sale 11-15.) |

Thanks, that fills in some holes. Interesting that the Barnharts were used mostly in SE Louisiana. |

This is the only American log loader I have for Louisiana: 966 Model F LL 04-18 Crowell & Spencer Lbr. Co. Ltd. #1 Long Leaf, LA supplied with ¾ yard clamshell bucket for ditching There were most likely others but this is the only one I have a record for. |
