Are folks aware if any of the following types of heavyweight cars survived? 1) 7 Drawing Room Plan 2583, 2583-A, 2583-B, 3583, 3583-A; 2) 10 compartment cars; 3) 7 compartment-2 drawing room cars; 4) 13 double bedroom cars |

There is a 7-2 with the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, Texas. This Museum was once know as Age of Steam when it was located in Dallas, Texas, fairgrounds. This is the Glengyle built in 1910 on Lot 3867 to Plan 2522 (later 2522E) with an in-service date of December 30, 1910. Another 7-2 is with the Orange Empire Railway Museum (Southern California Railway Museum) in Perris, California. This is the Corydon built 1917 on Lot 4529 to Plan 2522B with an in-service date of November 22, 1917. The Corydon has the original connecting doors between all the rooms. The Glengyle received the modification as of June 1, 1937, to floor plan 2522E which removed alternate connecting doors and installed small closets in each Compartment at this location. |
