https://www.annatexas.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/862 PDF page 17 Approve a Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract to purchase and refurbish a 1906 2-6-0 Mogul ALCO locomotive. (Maurice Schwanke) Planning Director Maurice Schwanke gave a brief overview of the park concept plan. Advertisement for bids for a 1906 2-6-0 Mogul ALCO locomotive were conducted and one response was received from Reader Industries, Inc. located in Prescott, Arkansas. The bid was received on January 3, 2019 which is prior to the January 8th deadline. The bid amount was $348,360.00. There are funds available for this park equipment in the 2019 Fiscal Year Budget Park Trust Funds approved by the City Council. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ANNA, TEXAS APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE CONTRACT TO PURCHASE AND REFURBISH A 1906 2-6-0 MOGUL ALCO LOCOMOTIVE. MOTION: Council Member Bryan moved to approve. Council Member Miller seconded. Motion carried 5-0. |

I rode the ES&&NA and rode behind the 201, probably sparked my interests in railroading. I have always kinda hopped that railroad would make a turn around. not looking too good since reader has pulled their two locomotives from the property. |

The recently bought a 25 ton critter to haul smaller trains. I think the ES&NA is OK. Maybe not thriving but not seeming to be dying.. |
