Meaning no offense, Roger, if I were on the Commission I would take direct, thoughtful comments a bit more seriously than an internet poll.

Those of you desiring to make your thoughts and feelings known to the C&TS Commission should see the Friends of the C&TS news page (link below). Under the item "Commission Seeks Comment on RFI Responses," each bidder's response is shown and an email link is provided. Deadline for public comment is November 11, next Monday.

The timetable has changed slightly - the public meeting to review the RFP responses has been moved to December 7th instead of December 14th.

I agree. Barbara & I have already sent a letter. I believe the reason for the poll is so the people that won't take the time, or don't have the time for a letter have a way of participating.

In all fairess, most Internet polls should be considered for entertainment value only. As I live many miles away, I'll limit any commment on who I'd like to see running the C&TS. I'm sure there are at least 2 or 3 of the candidates that will be given serious consideration.

Let us know what your final results are whe the poll closes.

There is nothing in this "poll" that prevents repeated voting ... vote early vote often ... applies.

A similar effort for the Kenosha streetcar extension was cancelled when a hacker voted hundreds of times against it.

What happened in Kenosha? I live there, and I had heard anything about an extension. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Steve, The following appeared in the yahoo group on the Kenosha line,

Date: Fri Jun 7, 2002 2:32 pm
Subject: BULLETIN: Line extension plans!

This morning at 9:00 am, the Urban Land Institute (ULI) announced long-awaited
plans for the huge, abandoned (since 2000) American Brass plant which sprawls
over eight blocks on the near south side, from 63rd Street to 65th Street, and
14th Avenue to 20th Avenue.

Plans include a proposal to extend streetcar service on a widened, boulevarded
63rd Street!

The complex will be named Uptown Brass Center, and will include a mix of
quality housing (Brass Center Village) and retail.

The new 63rd-Uptown streetcar route has gotten the title "C Line".

Please be sure to vote in the poll below, if you haven't already, and ask your
friends to vote.

This will be the place for updates on this exciting new development!

Well the poll was abused as mentioned above and was reworked so that you had to sign in and register. This stopped the hacking. Please note that trolleyfans from all over the internet voted on this.
