https://www.ohio.com/news/20190613/cuya ... d-meetings The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR is rebuilding three cars: PRR 1527 Sharon Inn (coach from 21-roomette sleeper, later MARC 162): Children's "rolling museum" car. SCL (originally Seaboard Air Line) 6217, built 1947: "executive coach" (i.e. premium-fare) service. NYS&W RDC M-3: "self-contained executive car for board meetings or private parties. . . . being renovated to have a lounge area, a bar, table seating for board meetings and its own restroom". Will retain power train and self propulsion. Much more in the article. |

Pretty clever idea regarding the RDC. It’s a car that can be added on to an existing train as a modern version of a “private car” and can also operate on its own as a charter. Since Cuyahoga Valley is not a “historic” operation that doesn’t apply here... so yeah smart idea! |

6217 is gutted already and work is progressing. The Trucks for the RDC were sent out to be rebuilt she is currently sitting at fritzwater on shop trucks. And the C424 4241 is having it's 251 rebuilt with new rings and pistons. |

Just curious, where does one send out RDC trucks to be rebuilt these days? |

"Just curious, where does one send out RDC trucks to be rebuilt these days?" I wonder why they're not rebuilding the trucks in-house? They're just a lighter version of a regular passenger car truck. Nothing complicated that I know of. |

1 axle of each truck does have a differential like a heavy truck to drive them. That's probably what needs a rebuild. |
