Does anybody know the history of this locomotive? This photo is from alt.binaries.pictures.rail and was taken by Joseph Testagrose on 9-22-02.

New York City Transit Authority #6 was built by General Electric in 1921 as South Brooklyn Railway #6. It's basically a stock GE steeplecab electric locomotive, although its trolley poles were removed by NYCTA in favor of third rail shoes. Retired from regular service in 1976, it is still owned by NYCTA and is used once in a blue moon for fantrips and such. The most recent fantrip was in September, when the photo was taken - #6 was pulling a set of D-type rapid transit cars from Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit.
