ASR Announces Special Fundraising Event for the 2100

If you follow ASR on social media, this won't be news but in the event that you have not, we at ASR are excited to announce a very special evening at the West 3rd St Roundhouse in Cleveland with the one and only Ross Rowland, Legend of Steam, on Saturday, September 21. The event will include photo ops with Ross and the 2100, rides in the yard behind an RS-3 and a catered BBQ dinner. Then Ross will take the stage and share the highlights from his more than 40 years of experience in operating mainline steam excursions all across the country with special focus on the Reading T-1s and even his past experience with our own 2100. If you ever wanted to learn about the early days the mainline steam excursion industry here in the US, this will probably the best opportunity ever to hear from the man who did so much to create the industry that so many of us are so passionate about today.

If you are thinking of coming to Cleveland to see 765 in the Valley, this evening will fit in nicely with those plans and give you an extra bang for your buck and allow you fit yet another steamy event into this weekend.

Ross is an excellent speaker, I enjoyed hearing him (briefly talking with him) at the Freedom Train reunion in Portland in 2016.
If I live anywhere near this area, I'd attend for sure.

Thank you Lee for the nice compliment. I don't fashion my self as much of a speaker but I think the videos that have been unearthed from events starting in the 1960's will be interesting to the attendees as well as the back stories that can now be told as the innocent are now gone on to the roundhouse in the sky.

As many of you know I've been trying for a long while to do a sequel to the AFT and I hope to be able to announce something on that at the Cleveland event.
