Sure thing, Cody, These are English translations of the China Rail Steam Driver, Assistant Driver, and Stoker manuals by Swede Hans Schaeffer, which were once posted to his personal website. To the best of my knowledge, this is defunct, has been for years. Try searching through SY-Country, or through the archived pages of QJ Country. Anything that has ever been posted still exists somewhere on the web. I studied a printout of this material before my first trip to China in 2005. RyPN may still have my article in the articles section, but I left out the part where I got to drive QJs a couple times, also an SY and a C2. (Hence my imaginary nickname QJdriver). The book was an enormous help, and again in 2006 (see RyPN). If you can't access these online, I think I still have my paper copy somewhere. I also have a set of the original books, but they are written in Chinese sign language. I've got some books on translation, but my brain is too far gone to learn Chinese now.... |

You can use Google translate, you take a picture and it translates for you. As long as the writing is somewhat clear and clean. I'm pretty sure Google would choke on chicken scratch Chinese. |
