In the past few months thieves or A Thief has stolen the Pyle-National headlight unit off the tender, and in the past two weeks all the train indicator numbers (X1727) and glass (well, lexan actually) leaving just indicator shells. In the past the thefts have seemed to indicate collectors or even parts scroungers as we lost the air powered Bell Ringer, and the whistle was cut off (right through the mounting elbow).
The indicator numbers had been there since 1977, so why now??
Back in 1976 we were able to pressurize the boiler and operate the air pump, dynamo, bell ringer, and reverser motor (and lubricate them too). Since then I have been trying to keep an eye on the engine, but I no longer live in the area so it's a bit harder to do so.
If you see any of this stuff, please report it!

Don't look for logic among these skunks. You can never understand vandalism.
