This weekend, August 10 and 11, the Illinois Railway Museum is hosting its annual Diesel weekend. Among the rare pieces possible in operation are 4 Alcos 1 Baldwin and two GE's. Of course, your favorite EMD units will also be operating. The diesel department has been preparing for this event for months. Don't miss it! Each days parade starts in the early afternoon. |

There is a diesel parade? I think the web site only mentions various trains pulled by different diesels and departing at different times. |

From the Diesel Days Page here www.irm.org/event/diesel-days/?event_date=2019-08-10 "We will not have the parade of power as in previous years. Instead, there will be a set schedule of different trains running each day." Personally I think a big improvement over the parade as that involved too much staging. The weather looks great for this. From the looks of the posted schedule there will be a LOT of engine-train couplings. As well as cab rides and the Caboose train! See you there. |

The Baldwin centercab unit was out by the mainline when I was there Wednesday. Does anyone know if that runs? |
