Hello, I've been researching the Ashton Valve Company which was started by my ancestor Henry Ashton back in 1871. His patented invention of a pop safety valve led to boilers of all kind being much safer. I'm posting a story I've been able to piece together from old trade journals. Thanks Tom. I did order some copies of Ashton Valve correspondence from the Smithsonian a while back but I'll have to check to see if they have any Ashton Valve valves in their collection. If they don't, that issue could be rectified! |
