This conversation comes up due to my boards unwillingness to come to this board and learn what everyone else out there is doing. They feal that they know all there is to know about everything and don't want to listen to others that have done more and better things than us.
I know there are alot of top shelve groups posting on here and was just interested in an actual number and listing. I think this is the best site for people in our our line of work(love)and has more to offer yet!

I read this board almost every day. I only post when I have something to say that's pertinent to a current thread. I also forward things I see here to people who might find them of interest.

Representatives of many other institutions have told me they read RyPN (editorial copy as well as the Interchange) regularly but rarely if ever choose to post on the Interchange. It is safe to say that the readership is much broader than one might guess from the "poster-ship" as it were.

This is one of the reasons we have become increasingly strict about stamping out flame wars and enforcing the terms of service on this board. The quality and bredth of the readership here is in direct proportion to the quality and usefulness of the discussion we maintain. This board has become a very servicable resource for our community; we'd like to keep it that way.

Hey Guys,

I guess that I am most affiliated with the North Carolina Transportation Museum, as somewhat of a member of an advisory board to start a teenage volunteer group there. I try to help out there whenever I can find some free time and just do whatever needs to be done. Not much to it I guess. I've been a steam enthusiast for years, and love pretty much anything steam powered. I had the opportunity to go to Railcamp 2002 at Steamtown this year, and that has furthured my interest in the subject as well.

I read RYPN at least twice daily when at home. I am a retired Electrical Engineer with a life long interest in railroading and railroad history. I am a member of the all volunteer Sumpter Valley Railroad Restoration Inc. (SVRR). (Also known as SVRy). I know several SVRR Board members who also read and post on this board. Our OPS Mgr., CMO, and other department heads also peruse and post on RYPN. We all learn much here. I appreciate finding how other organizations are doing it.
