I stumbled across this rail yard while up in Maine recently. It's on the list of National Historic places. "the Knox and Lincoln Railroad" 1871/72 construction started. Leased to Maine Central 1891 and in 1901 sounds like it became Maine Central until 2015. Now my good deed is finally done with. Regards, John. Edit: Knox and Lincoln RR built original building and turntable. Maine Central rebuilt it in 1921 with existing structures. |

Our society has an operating and in use turntable that we got from some Canadian RR. It is used to turn cars on the Fillmore and Western RR. and hopefully put our 23 ton switcher on the main line.once we get it running. We are the Santa Clara Valley RR Historical Society in So Cal. |

As LV 2095 said, it was Maine Central. A decade or two back, Maine & Eastern rebuilt it and refurbished it beautifully, using it to advantage to display their FL9's and MLW M-424's. When M&E was ousted in a political in-fight, the railroad lease was ceded to CM&Q. While M&E was actively trying to build passenger service on the rails, CM&Q is only interested in moving freight. The roundhouse remains a beautiful piece of railroad heritage in mid-coast Maine. Similar roundhouses might have been preserved for heritage purposes. Bartlett (NH) roundhouse might get out alive. |

Stopped by on Sunday Sept. 29th and there was evidence that something had recently broken the rust off the railhead on the turntable and one of the roundhouse tracks. A locomotive was in the yard coupled to some Dragon cement cars. |

An employee there told me that Dragon in their main client. |
