What a music video-worthy opener that flick has! Glad AOS saved at least one of the engines (19?) that appeared in that flick.

We ( HICO) did a publicity shoot for that movie with Ernest Borgnine and other cast members in the CRRofNJ Jersey City terminal with a live under steam RDG. T-1 2102.

It was lots of un and we came away well paid and with lots of great photos.

Wasn’t McCloud River Railroad #25 also used? I think I remember it being used as a passing by engine when they were stopped in Eugene

That was OP&E no.1, which was one of their 2-6-2T's, and survives in the Kepner collection.

The station was Salem, by the way. It was a prop built in the yard at Cottage Grove.

There were only two live steam locomotives in Emperor Of The North, the 5 and the 19. The 5 played the roles of three different locomotives in the film. OP&E no. 1 was seen in the background in Salem, but was not in steam.
