The recreated SP #18 depot in Mountain View CA was dedicated on November 7,2002, as part of my city's Centennial observance. The classic two story architecture had been missing from the city's trackside landscape since the original 1888 structure was razed in 1959. Paint is a more pastel ochre over brown, instead of true SP yellow and brown. (Have to get it right when new paint is due), but thanks to construction savings, the natural shingle roof is correctly painted green. Lacking both a scanner and digital camera, I can't post any photos, but there are so many peninsula people on the "Who's in Here" thread that someone will be able to share a picture of the completed building soon. If you need a new #18 building, the architect and contractor are looking for work. flwong@danceart.net |

See the link for full information on the depot construction project. A neat portfolio of other Peninsula Corridor depots is featured in the December Railroad Model Craftsman. http://mvcentennialplaza.com flwong@danceart.net |
