Hey guys,

It has been awhile. I'm still working on a project. I just want to know if anybody has information on the last steam locomotives that the Erie Railroad used in freight service. Any info on passenger engines will also be appreciated.

Thanks.

Alec

HI
According to the book American Steam Finale 1954 to 1970 by Lloyed E. Stagner. Erie still had 22 pacific's running in commuter service in November of 1952.
Erie steam power worked 8-weekday suburban trains between New Jersey and New York Railroad, between Jersey City & Spring Valley, NJ
The pacific's that were in service at the time was in 2516,19,21,26,30,40,44 and 2739.
Engine 2530 made the last run out of Jersey City, March 17th, 1954.
As for freight Steam Power, the Erie Berkshires lasted right into, diesel era, in the early '50s. When the railroad, started to built up its diesel fleet, in order to eliminate all Steam Power.

Thanks for some of this information. I'm just looking for information on the last freight engines or simply what were some of the final runs of Erie steam freights.
