As a child in the mid to late 1970s, my family made a couple of vacation trips to New Hampshire. One of these trips included the Wolfboro Railroad. I've been scanning old pictures, and these the package had written "197?" for the year. I'm wondering if you can help me with figuring out the year - it's got to be between 1975 and 1979.

Wolfeboro 250 was running. One of the pictures shows a tender with "250" on it behind a shop building:

Another shows an old coach, I don't know if it's a camp car or whether it was being restored:

Do either of these two pictures help to pin it down?

There is a Wolfeboro group on facebook that could probably pin it down for you. I'd have to dig out my slides but I'm pretty sure the enginehouse had been painted red by the time of my visit in July 1977. Your photo also appears to show a new crossing signal is being installed which may have been '76 or early '77.

Hi Alan
First of all Nice early shots of the Wolfeboro RR, one of our club members was a fireman on the # 250, during the summer months.
Without digging my slides, I still have the book on Wolfeboro, put out by the Railroad called ( THROUGH THE WOODS TO WINNIPESAUKEE).
The # 250 arrived on the Railroad being towed by the Plymouth Switcher # 9 which was ex Stewartstown # 6, in May of 1973.
So showing the engine-house without paint, your slides could have been shortly after the # 250 arrived, to be rebuilt for service.
The # 250 did not go into service until August of 1973, on the Railroad.
Today the # 250 is stuffed and mounted at Thomas land at the old Ex Edaville site in South Carver, Mass.

Here's another couple.

The train about to depart with 250 at the helm.

On the same siding as the white coach, above, there was what appears to be a doodlebug with engine running (I see smoke from it).

The M-405 motor car was acquired in 1977, so your visit would not have been before then.

That 405 looks like a neat car! What became of it?

Hi
In answer to the last post dealing with the NYC M-405, the car is now located on the tourist line of the Delaware & Ulster RR, in Arkville, New York.

The Facebook group thought that the year was 1977. Thanks for your help, everyone!
