So, can you or someone provide more information about the cars?
What kind of car is the "Forest Park"? When were they built, etc?

In advance, thanks.

PMC -

Thanks for furnishing that info. The "Forest Park" (IC 3336) was configured as part coach and part lounge. As I recall the story someone told me long ago, the car was a single car order and was meant for the "Green Diamond" consist. However, after the IC received the car, it wasn't assigned to the "Green Diamond", but worked various IC trains as was needed.

Baggage car #635 was originally a coach (I seem to recall it being IC #3111) and was one of a number of heavyweight coaches that the IC rebuilt as baggage cars. BTW, the 635 is privately owned by a MRM member.

Edit: Les posted already what I was looking up http://www.icrr.net/passenger6.htm :

3111 635 Coach - wide vestibule Baggage & express 1911 C1941 Currently at Monticello Railway Museum in Monticello, IL

1911-built coach #3111 was converted into baggage car #635 in 1941, when you think about it that is a very old car to convert, I wonder if the trucks on it now date to 1911.

"Forest Park" does not appear in "Century of Pullman Cars Vol I". I think these two cars came from the ITM in Nobelsville which shows to be in the Forest Park area of Noblesville. Hence the names of the two cars. Any idea to the "given" name of the 3336?

The IC had a practice of naming many of its non-Pullman cars, which is why you aren't seeing this name in that book.

Here are photos of this car in its as received condition:

http://www.mrym.org/3336.html

This car is very complete from its last use in revenue service (49 years ago!) and is a good example of how railroads were seeking to reduce the costs of providing food & beverage service.

The car has been located at Railway & Industrial Services, Inc. in Crest Hill, IL for many years. There were also several EJ&E wood and steel cabooses and 1 or 2 big hooks here as well. From what I understand, these have been scrapped.

The real estate listing shows that an-ex Milwaukee Road SW1200 is still on the property:

From the facebook post Les linked to: "M. A. Jones Trucking along with Anker Trucking of Lynnwood IL successfully moved these 2 railroad cars this week. The first originating from Crest Hill, IL and the second one from Effingham, IL" There are reports of #635 sitting in Effingham for years, including a discussion on TO, so no neither of these cars was at ITM.

IC 635 has two axle roller bearing trucks which probably date from the 1941 conversion from coach to baggage and express car.
