Post subject:  EBT Passenger Cars

With the EBT Railroad in the news recently; I remember that back in 2002, the Friends of the East Broadtop Railroad were able to purchase the EBT #18 passenger car and the EBT #26 combine from the defunct Sundown & Southern tourist railroad in Colorado.

Last I heard, they have the cars the Paint Shop of the EBT Railroad for shelter and possible restoration work.

Has anyone heard if any restoration work has been done on either of the cars?

The Friends also have a truck project in mind; but they have not been able to raise the money to purchase the new wheels for the trucks, which are supposed to go under the #16 passenger car. Any news there?

All three cars need a good bit of work before they run again. 18 and 29 are intact, trucks, couplers, hardware, but suffered from sitting outside at the Sundown & Southern. 16 is in New Jersey at Allaire. Before they got the car it was a storage building, stripped of trucks, hardware, interior furnishings and end platforms.
One of FEBT's projects has been rehabing combine 14, one of the ex Revere Beach cars. I would guess that the cars used in regular service, 14, 15, 8 and 20 would get attention before the 16,18 and 29.
