I remember reading an article about their locomotives in Model Railroader, i think from the 1970s. They had oscillating cylinders.

Digging around a while back, I came across a few photos of Filer & Stowell locomotives, and a some illustrations from Model Railroader showing, among other things, the oscillating cylinder arrangement. Hope that it comes through.
