Looking for caboose seats for my CR cab. Thought I saw a post on here where someone else was looking for info about Coach and Car Company. Are they still in business? Web search shows bankruptcy a few years ago. Thanks Bill |

Coach & Car Equipment Co did go bankrupt several years ago. Their assets were sold and have passed through more than one owner. For the most part their designs are now held by Kustom Seating Unlimited of Bellwood, Illinois. Given the current "stay at home" situation it is likely their operation is shut down. Since cabin cars (cabooses/waycars) are no longer utilized by most railroads it is likely that the best source for seats is in the "collectables" market. |

There is a pair of caboose seats on Facebook marketplace right now...in good shape. Not sure if the style you are looking for but...a place to start. T7 |

Thanks for the feedback. It may be more like an engineer's seat. CR called them coach seats.

Similar to the seats in one of our cabooses. I was mainly interested in finding the fabric/material used to make the seat covers in my original inquiry. It looks like a woven vinyl. I have sent an e-mail to Kustom. Thanks for that info! |

The covering is most likely Naugahyde or something similar. Yup, Naugahyde is still made, choice of colors, patterns & weights. Talk to your local upholstery shops if you’re looking to get your seats recovered. They’ll use your old covers as a pattern. |
