There have been a couple of busy work weekends at IRM now since the current phase has been implemented, and things are progressing quite quickly. One project that has been moving slowly forward, took an advanced leap, when Shaker car 18 did some test runs at the shop barn, then went out on the trolley loop for a few trips. Olin - Thanks for posting the info about the Shaker Heights car being restored to operation at the Illinois Railway Museum. However, I'm a bit confused as to why Frank Hicks in his reporting of the car operating at IRM said that the car was Shaker Heights 18 when it quite obviously shows as being #1218. You followed along, so perhaps an explanation could be furnished? Les |

1218 was the Cleveland Railways number; the car became 18 on Shaker Heights Rapid Transit. The current paint and lettering date to its time at Trolleyville. See the excellent history on the Hicks Car Works web site: https://hickscarworks.blogspot.com/2013/10/h1218.html |
