On Thursday the 13th of this month the East Broad Top celebrated their 60th Anniversary as a tourist operation with a rededication ceremony, followed by three days of private & public train rides and guided tours of the facility. The predawn hours of the 14th were greeted by a thick fog in Rockhill Furnace. So much mood and atmosphere void of any sound or breeze. Steam locomotives #14 & 16 are in the roundhouse apart and being restored to operational condition, on display outdoors were #12, 15, 17, & 18; along with some of the freight, passenger car, and automobile collection. Follow the link below to my series of foggy early morning photographs. I present this gallery in both color and monochrome. Clicking the “Slideshow” button in the upper right portion of the webpage will start the presentation with fading transformations of each frame from color to monochrome. Which version do you prefer? https://www.losttracksoftime.com/p47324941 Enjoy, Matthew |

The monochrome gray scale gets my vote. It takes you back in time. |

In a year with so much being postponed or canceled by the virus, it’s thrilling to see the East Broad Top coming back to operational status under new Foundation leadership – at a very accelerated yet quality driven pace. I will return next month; definitely looking forward to seeing the progress. As always I appreciate all the kind words. Thank you! Matthew |
