Post subject:  Insider vandalism at Seashore Trolley Museum

Just copy and paste from the Saeshore Trolley Museume on Facebook
"Seashore Nation, we need your help.

Someone with knowledge of our streetcar controllers has committed a serious act of vandalism to one of our collection pieces. We are currently reviewing our camera footage, but due to the length of time involved when the vandalism could have occurred and the amount of cameras we have on campus that are pointed at the location this act took place, this will take us a few days. The collection piece was also locked with a key only available to members. If you have any information on the person/people who are responsible, please email director@trolleymuseum.org immediately.

Yesterday (Friday) morning when we turned on our line car Claremont No. 4 before a survey run, the controller exploded. The operator of No. 4 knew exactly what to do and acted fast, preventing further damage to the car and in the carhouse.

Our well-maintained controllers don't explode--that just doesn't happen. Opening it revealed that someone had vandalized it. This person definitely knew what they were doing; they vandalized it in a way that would cause the most damage possible.

When someone goes low, we go high. This one incident does not define us; this is not who we are. Pandemic aside, we have had such a great season and the next five are going to be even better with our New Direction strategic plan in place. There’s incredible momentum right now. It's a great time to be a member, volunteer, and champion of Seashore Trolley Museum, and this act has motivated us even more to work together to keep our positive momentum going, for the good of the museum and the Society.

After quick repairs to the controller, No. 4 completed its survey on the main line and will be the star of major overhead infrastructure repairs this week on campus. Thank you to our Overhead Department volunteers and our Restoration Shop employees who helped get the car back on line."

What kind of psycho would do something like that?
Glad you caught and fixed it.

Yep. I have seen a very similar thing which happened during the
past year at another trolley museum.

I just don't know what it is, but things do tend to go "bump" in the
night, especially at trolley museums....

Real weird stuff too.

Nobody ever seems to find out about who did it either.
Then it never gets mentioned again and everyone pretends
as though it never happened...
