CSX is being extra generous as of late. After about two years of negotiations, they have donated Conrail N-20 caboose #22130 (ex-RDG #94103) to The Conrail Historical Society. The car is coming directly out of active service and will be restored to Conrail paint at the Stourbridge Line in Honesdale, PA for use on their excursion trains. Lots more photos and info at https://www.thecrhs.org/22130.

CSX just does not get enough credit in preservation. Even if it is a fairly small donation here, they’ve done a lot of work in helping other organizations in preservation. |

It's really true. They've been a fantastic partner to a number of organizations lately and it's wonderful to see. |

Yes, they have. As someone who has benefitted greatly and is a part of the process, we need to enjoy it, and take advantage of it, while it lasts... |

Congratulations on your acquisition. I know the effort and mental anguish behind such acquisitions. I say this respectfully: Take a look at what you have collected so far.to my knowledge r,Bay window caboose, originally Erie/EL Gondola car, originally PRR Camp body, mounted on a PRR flat car Now an extended-vision caboose, originally RDG. None of these pieces was built FOR Conrail. I suggest that you try to get your hands on one of the bay window cabooses built by Fruit Growers Express (only such cars known to be built by FGE), and other equipment specifically built for Conrail, maybe even stuff built for Penn-Central, which doesn't get much respect in preservation (from me, either). From what I've seen, you have done some good restoration work on what you do have, but it seem that you're just thrilled to get some "big trains", and not going after what other groups that would ignore--built for Conrail pieces. |

They have aquired that PC X67 boxcar which they are going to use as an "instant museum building" fairly recently though... https://www.thecrhs.org/295633 |
