| Post subject: | C&O 614 Water Tenders. |
Does anyone know that the numbers were on water tenders 614A and 614B when they were on the L&N? Also does anyone know where the current 614A came from. I know that 614B was used by NKP 765 on the 1985 New River Trains and went to Norfolk Southern in 1986. It then came out of the shop behind 1218 and that tender is currently the one behind 611. Also when the 614 was used on the ACE 3000 in used what was the 614B and another tender that said Chessie System Railroads. Thanks, Matthew |

The notes I have have a possibility of 614-B being from L&N 1979. |

The L&N environmental cars (22 former 1949 M-1 Berkshire tenders converted in 1962) were X40966-X40987. The original steam locomotives were 1970 to 1991. If you can find the X-series number, you should be able to correlate it to the original "BIG EMMA", unless there were tender swaps. If you have additional info, or corrections, please add to the sketchy record. |
