FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE
--------------------------------------------------------------
The Norfolk and Western Business Car Preservation Society, a 501c3 nonprofit organization has accepted the donation of 1917 Pullman-built Norfolk and Western Business Car 300.
Message from Bryan Lalevee, President:
"After 3 years of negotiations, our dream is now a reality. This is a true barn find as it has been stored inside a warehouse since 1991. The car is currently on the East Coast. After a long overdue COT&S and brake valve upgrade, the car will travel to Valparaiso, Indiana for a temporary stay while we get the car up and running. She will then be shipped to our home base in Coldwater, Michigan to be operated in excursion service behind the Little River Railroad excursion consist."
You can help support our vision of restoring, operating, and preserving N&W 300 for generations to come. Visit us at http://www.nw300.org Memberships start at $30/year. Donations are 100% tax deductible.
Thank you for your generous support!

Yep, via ex-Wabash trackage to Detroit. Wabash had a strong automotive traffic base between Detroit and points West.

I occasionally drive past an an industrial area in Southeast Michigan with an empty lot served by a spur off that ex-WAB main line. It's posted with faded signs which state something like "No Trespassing - Property of N&W RR". Some industries elsewhere on that spur are still served by NS.

Yes.

Amtrak's ex-NYC ex-MC tracks run thru the Dearborn area. The Dearborn station is adjacent to The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. That is not the ex-WAB trackage.

The ex-WAB mainline pretty much follows I-94 (on the south side) from near Metro Airport to just past M-39 ("the Southfield Freeway") at Allen Park. There they parts ways, with I-94 jogging Northward, away from the tracks. The mainline then proceeds to the area of the Ford Rouge plant, a few miles south in the Melvindale area.

Continuing to the East, at the Detroit River in the general area of the Ambassador Bridge to Canada, were WAB yards for car-ferry operations to Windsor. Wabash trains brought traffic thru Canada, by trackage rights, to the Buffalo area via Fort Erie and Niagra Falls, ON.

The above is from memory. "Correct" information is likely to be had at http://www.wabashrhs.org/, or from corrections provided by other members, which I welcome!
